This album stands as an amazing introduction to and collection from one of the best record labels I've ever known. The quality, consistency, and power of Lost Tribe Sound's releases borders on the preternatural, and will leave you both smiling and in tears. The most true, pure expression of love and art conceivable. Outstanding.
Favorite track: Lesser Still.

This charity compilation is comprised of eleven exclusive songs from a variety of artists both new and old to the label. It serves as perfect representation of what Lost Tribe Sound has strived to bring forth over the years with its rustic, brooding mix of classical, folk and otherwise indescribable sound. The album includes collaborations by From the Mouth of the Sun & Seabuckthorn, Manyfingers & William Ryan Fritch, Kiln & Mute Forest, kj & The Green Kingdom, William Ryan Fritch & Alder & Ash, along with exclusive solo endeavors from The Phonometrician, Luton, Spheruleus, Alder & Ash, Gavin Miller and William Ryan Fritch.
During the course of Lost Tribe Sound's 2017 album series, 'Prelude to the Decline' an album was promised to subscribers that would combine various artists from the year. Once LTS received all the finished songs from the artists, it was agreed that the album had turned into something quite special. So it was decided that a highly limited and elaborate physical edition was in order for this collection, hence the 8 page hard cover CD was conceived.
The artwork for the limited CD book is a series of collages, sewn together digitally with photos borrowed from a wide variety of sources both old and new. Lost Tribe Sound created 10 pieces of art for the custom CD book. All of the imagery and textures were taken from a variety of creative commons sources, or lent by kind friends. They exude the sense of reverence and wonder that LTS has always held towards other cultures and time periods long past. The images seem to work well to visually compliment the core of our musical beliefs and the music at hand. All is borrowed from the past, pulled from the ether, reinterpreted and given new life in the present. The CD book is limited to 100 editions and each is hand-numbered
The compilation introduces three artists new to the LTS roster, all of which will have full-length albums included in the new series. Mexico-based multi-instrumentalist and sound preservationist, The Phonometrician is set to release his stunning debut, with equally gorgeous artwork from our favorite visual artist, João Ruas.
Also new to the roster, UK's Gavin Miller, one half of the duo Worriedaboutsatan, comes out of no where with the most sublime, slow-motion folk drone we've heard in a while. Miller's upcoming double album Meander Scars features multi-instrumentalist Aaron Martin on the first half of the album.
Plus, an artist well-known to most in our tight knit underground scene, Spheruleus, the project of UK's Harry Towell, head honcho for the sublime ambient experimental label Whitelabelrecs, graces us with a very personal album. Spheruleus upcoming full-length dives headlong into his well-loved beat laden side of his many musical personalities.
Lost Tribe Sound will be dividing the net proceeds earned from the compilations physical, digital and streaming revenue and dividing it up amongst these charities: Union of Concerned Scientists, Rainforest Alliance, Earth Justice, Earth Island Institute, Music Minds Matter, Musicares and a small group of hand-selected eco-friendly and agricultural causes through Kiva. We will work to provide updates on our charitable donations as time goes on.
We hold the belief that as our surroundings improve so does our mental health. The mental health charities we’ve chosen to focus on directly help artists and musicians with mental health related matters. We’ve had many first hand experiences with artists, friends, musicians and even ourselves struggling with a variety of issues relating to our mental well being, including suicidal thoughts and actions, abuse, addiction and depression. Hopefully the sales of this various artists compilation will allow Lost Tribe Sound give a decent amount of funding to organizations that have a direct impact on those struggling to find their place in this world.

THE YEAR'S BEST PACKAGING 2019 - "Empathetic music, worthwhile charities and yet another beautiful hardcover presentation combine to make this a release worth praising." - (Richard Allen) A CLOSER LISTEN
"Each of these artist have their very own style and approach, yet it is remarkable how their choices come together in a clearly recognisable and unique Lost Tribe Sound trademark." - AMBIENT BLOG
"LTS have consistently added artists that compliment the other artists that they have previously released. That is not say that the artists on the label sound the same. Each has their own individual approach and sound, but the standout feature is the quality of the music. When you listen to a release on this label you know that you are in for a treat of music of the highest order." - DRIFTING, ALMOST FALLING
"Beautifully deep and compelling songs. Also deserving special mention, the beautiful artwork and book full of beautiful photos. An overwhelming and imaginative start to the series." (Jan Willem Broek) DE SUBJECTIVISTEN

An absolutely stunning release. The music is fraught with cicadas and mimosa blooms, and blends beautifully with the lazy southern haze of the afternoon. Heading back in for a second spin. Thank you for releasing this album. Randy Arnold

I love listening to this striking collection of compositions and imagining what sort of films they were meant to accompany. It's hard for me to believe, however, that any visual component would be much more than a distraction from the singular emotive power of the music. Gyakkun

The music of Vieo Abiungo is bleak but it amazingly encapsulates hope in it. This is what makes it so special.

Mournful, elegiac, and oddly hopeful, this album is a stunning, heartfelt tribute to the fragile and precious and bittersweet wonder of simply Being -- being alive, being human, being loved, being lost... Utterly gorgeous. Chad Goodell
