UPDATE FEB. 2024 - All is still coming together for the last couple releases in the series. There has been some issues with our CD manufacturer that have slowed down this whole process. We had considered cancelling the remainder of the series, but we decided that would be a sad way to go out, as we have some of the best artwork and music we’ve ever done included in this series. So, hell or high water we will deliver. It’s tough to set an exact date on it at the moment, but all should be delivered sometime in the Spring of 2024. Thanks for the support and for your patience!

ABOUT THE SERIES:

First off, your early support of this series by subscribing and spreading the word helps tremendously with getting all of these editions in the works, and looking and sounding their best.

This is our 5th label-wide subscription series, after 2021's Salt & Gravity series we were not sure if we had another one of these in us. Turns out, the addicting combination of sharing new music we love and the grueling workloads this creates is exactly our thing.

That said, barely anything came easy with this series, not the title, the mastering engineers, the artwork, nor the words. The only idea that was solid early on were the artists we wanted to involve. 'Maps To Where The Poison Grows' is a title that works on many levels. It was pilfered from our close friend Arrowounds and his ability to paint vividly bizarre imagery with his clever titling. This series name spawned from a song title which appeared on Arrowounds 2021 album 'The Rise and Fall of the Melting World,' and it's one that has kept haunting us ever since. 

For some, the word poison holds negative connotations, something life-threatening to be avoided. Less commonly, it can be thought of positively, as medicinal, a shock to the system to help reroute neural pathways, a necessary tool for thinning the veil. Both of these definitions hold water. More pointedly, the poison we refer to in the title helps describe our deeply entrenched relationship to the music, the visuals, and the artists and friendships develop in the process. Sharing creative endeavors that reside comfortably in the privacy of our own space is never an easy thing. The thought of months or years of internalization, planning, excitement all potentially being reduced to a star, a number, a blurb or nothing at all. In some ways, it's like opening a vein, bleeding out a little with each go. 
 
This series explores music made for hermitic pursuits, for ritual, for liminal spaces, for the best and worst of times. Perhaps it is best formatted to handle the mundanity of those in between times. Over the last few years, our interest in melody has given way to more non-musical modes of sound experimentation. We have never been about sonic clarity. Happily abandoning it for a sound that is less fleshed out, murky, a sound that challenges and leads to catharsis. A sound that considers the texture, tone, and low-end as equals to composition. This is not always a popular approach. Yet, it fascinates and brings about new ways of connecting to the music. Through all of this, the old adage, "Pick your Poison" comes to mind. With that, we know what we have chosen. 'Maps To Where The Poison Grows' is a rugged, often lone path to where of our most cared for riches lie. 

This series will expand upon our signature sound... dusted, intense modern composition teeming with electroacoustic experimentation (such as the solo debut from Claire Deak, the debut from Civic Hall (aka Euan Millar-McMeeken & Craig Tattersall), along with new albums by From the Mouth of the Sun, and mastroKristo). Elsewhere, heady ritual and slow-driving industrial ambient help to disrupt with contributions from Lavatone, Corrado Maria De Santis, and Kaya North. Corroded circuitry and late-night alchemy bring comfort in the form of electroacoustic ambient works from Drawing Virtual Gardens. Additionally, Skyphone returns with thirty-one minutes of circuit-bending post-folk experimentalism. Lastly, R.A Sanchez (Black Baptist, Pale Hearse, Tokyo Bloodworm) delivers a mammoth solo debut L'Ottava Sfera, which explores themes of illness, apotheosis and death.

READ CAREFULLY exactly what you will be getting with the option you select. As with previous series, worldwide shipping and packing materials are expensive and waste trees and time, so all physical releases will ship in one big, well-packed box upon the completion of the series (See FAQ for more info).

SERIES RUNDOWN

1. The series will be limited to two bundle options to keep it simple, Digital Subscriptions or CD Subscriptions.

We will be creating 11 physical CD editions over the series, with one of them arriving as a double CD. Each edition will arrive in a full color gatefold-style CD jackets with most editions will containing a small folded art poster.

All physical editions will ship in one box upon the completion of the series in around Spring 2024. Each CD Bundle will ship in a well-packaged and corner protected box. Plus, each subscriber will be emailed a digital Bandcamp download code for each album on their given release day.

2. Our goal is to release the 11 albums beginning in August 2023 and running through Spring 2024. This will be a busy fall/winter schedule, but we are prepared to handle it. As usual for all Lost Tribe Sound Series, we have provided you with one song from each release in the series.

We will also send a welcome email with a coupon code and thanks within 24 hours of subscribing. • Will my items arrive in good condition? • Will my items arrive in good condition? Absolutely! We want your albums to arrive in excellent condition. We can make arrangements to have half the series mailed to you once we reach the midpoint of the series if you like. • Once I subscribe to the series, will I be able to cancel my subscription? Unfortunately once you subscribe you will not be able to cancel your subscription, since we will begin delivering Subscriber perks and will also be using your early funding to help build all these beautiful objects.
